Rangnick Denies Bad Blood With Lingard
Manchester United interim boss, Ralf Rangnick, is denying reports of there being a rift between him and Jesse Lingard.
Last Friday, 4 February, Lingard was noticeably missing in action during United’s FA Cup fourth-round defeat against Middlesbrough.
Rangnick said that Lingard had asked for time off; however, according to the 29-year-old midfielder himself, the club had apparently advised him to sit out the match.
Speaking to the press during a pre-match conference on Monday, 7 February, Rangnick – whose squad is set to face relegation-threatened Burnley tonight – played down rumours of a conflict.
“With regard to Jesse, I have a very good relationship with him,” he said. “We have to look forward now. There are no problems whatsoever between myself and Jesse and vice versa. I’m very happy to have him in the squad.”
Lingard, he added, will partake in today’s game at Turf Moor. Of course, fans will be keeping a close eye on how the pair will act around each other this evening.
